Mission Statement

Mission statement

MCHN is a parent volunteer led cooperative support group, not supervisory, with the central purpose of providing information, inspiration, and encouraging support to local Christian homeschool families (Philippians 2:1-2) and Christian homeschool state and national organizations. We encourage our members to understand and abide by the Colorado Regulatory Statutes (C.R.S) related to homeschooling. For more information as to how to legally homeschool in Colorado, go to CHEC.org or HSLDA.org.
It is the purpose of this group that all of its activities and teaching will be consistently and forthrightly Christian to the honor and glory of the Lord God and that no member shall promote anything that deviates from or is contrary to the statements made within.
The information given through MCHN is not given as legal advice and should not take the place of legal counsel from a qualified, informed attorney. We recommend membership in Home School Legal Defense Association (may be reached at hslda@hslda.com).

The Bible (Old and New Testament) is the inspired and infallible Word of God and constitutes His completed and final revelation to man (II Timothy 3:16-17). The Bible, in its original autograph, is without error in whole or in part, including theological concepts as well as geographical and historical details and is considered our only written authority. MCHN also supports the Biblical account of Creation – God created everything is six, literal, 24-hour periods (Genesis 1-2:1, Exodus 20:11).

There is only one true God (Exodus 20:3, Isaiah 44:6, Jude 1:24-25) who exists in three persons (Ephesians 4:4-6): God the Father (Hebrews 1:1), God the Son (Hebrews 1:2), and God the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4). Jesus Christ was God come in human flesh being fully God and fully man, except without sin (Colossians 1:15, Philippians 2:5-8). All men are in violation of God’s righteous requirements and His holy character both by nature and act, and are therefore under His wrath and condemnation (Romans 3:23). The answer to this condemned state is salvation.

The central purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ was to pay the penalty for man’s sin through His substitutionary death on the cross and shed blood (Hebrews 9:12-14, 1 John 1:7), the successful accomplishment of which was attested to by His subsequent visible, bodily resurrection (Luke 24:6).

Salvation is offered as a gift, free to the sinner (Romans 6:23). This gift must be responded to in individual faith (Romans 10:9-13), not trusting in any personal works whatsoever, (Ephesians 2:8-9), but in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 1:7).

It is the adopted policy of MCHN that all members understand this Group Policy and Purpose and will agree to adhere to it in all things representing MCHN. All topics of Activity Day teaching will be pre-approved by member families at MCHN monthly Fellowship Nights and anyone volunteering to lead these activities will align with the above-mentioned statements and not deviate from nor contradict them. Field Trips will also be pre-approved at monthly meetings and need to be in keeping with a Biblical Worldview. Anyone serving in the SGL, Assistant SGL, Treasurer, and Yearbook Coordinator positions will be a confessed Christian with a supporting lifestyle
