Track & Field

Run. Jump. Throw. Have fun.

Track & Field is our once-a-year spring event for homeschool families. Some kids train for it all year. Others show up just to see what they can do.

We start the morning with field events like ball toss, standing long jump, and running long jump. Parents and families help run the stations and keep things moving.

Then we head to the track. Races include the 25-yard, 50-yard, 100-yard, 400-yard, and the mile. When we have time, we also add relay races, parent and kid races, or even kids versus adults. Those races are just for fun.

Get Moving

Kids take part based on their age, ability, and what they want to try.

Some want to compete in everything. Others may choose one race and one field event. That is fine.

There is room for kids who train hard and kids who just want to give it a try.

Cheer Each Other On

This is one of the best parts of the day.

Families line the course and cheer. Friends will sometimes run alongside another child in the grass just so they do not have to finish alone.

It does not matter if a child is fast, athletic, or completely new to it. We want every kid encouraged when they step up to compete.

Learn and Grow

Some kids come back every year trying to beat their best times.

We keep records for the kids who care about that, and ribbons give them something to work toward.

Other kids are there for the fun of it. Both are welcome.

Winning is great. So is trying something new, finishing a race, improving from last year, or simply finding out what you can do.

Join Us!

MCHN Track & Field is held once each spring.

The event is mainly for homeschool families in Morgan County, but we also invite homeschool families and groups from nearby communities in Northern Colorado.

Registration information will be shared before the event so we know how many families are coming and what we need to prepare.

Check the MCHN calendar for the event date. Members should also watch GroupMe and email for registration and event details.
